A GoCardless project should focus on the business records that need collection-status information. Define customer and payment references while keeping mandate and payment actions separately authorised.

Start by reviewing customer matching, collection references, status events, authorisation boundaries. These are scoping topics; the final data flow depends on your account access and the receiving system.
